Nick Sousanis will facilitate a workshop titled: "Unflattening Your Research: thinking in comics" on Thursday, Oct. 20. Participants will do drawing and cartooning activities that can be adapted to their scholarship and teaching practices.
The workshop is open to faculty, students, and researchers in all academic fields. Registration is required, and the deadline is Oct. 20 3.p.m. Register here.
Sousanis is a cartoonist and education scholar. He received his EdD at Teachers College, Columbia University in 2014. He produced his dissertation, titled Unflattening, as a comic book. The comic book is the winner of the 2016 American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE Award) in Humanities and the Lynd Ward Prize for best Graphic Novel of 2015. Unflattening is also nominated for a 2016 Eisner Award for Best Scholarly/Academic work.
