WKOW spotlights Breathe for Change, a non-profit started by UW alum Nankin

June 01, 2016

Madison’s local ABC affiliate, WKOW/Ch. 27, recently featured the new non-profit Breathe for Change that was launched by UW-Madison alumna Ilana Nankin.

Nankin appears on WKOWBreathe for Change is an organization that trains teachers in yoga and mindfulness techniques. It was started by Nankin while she was pursuing her Ph.D. with the School of Education’s No. 1-ranked Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Nankin received her doctorate and graduated in May.

As WKOW reports: “School is almost out for summer, but that's not stopping a Madison non-profit from raising awareness about wellness in education communities. Breathe for Change started as a passion project for UW Madison Ph.D. student, Ilana Nankin.  Now it's helping educators in Madison and around the world. Nankin just graduated with her degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  A former Pre-K teacher, she had seen first hand what she calls teacher burnout.”
